Notes #18/2023: What does a sustainability choreographer do?

Notes are just that: Short, informal messages, or brief records of points or ideas written down. The views and opinions expressed in my notes do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of my employer or clients.

What does a sustainability choreographer do?

The term "sustainability choreographer" or sometimes "choreographer of sustainability" has been a part of my website's tagline since its launch in 2012. While the meaning of this term is clear to me, I've come to realize it may not be for every reader. Although my website has been dormant for a while, I've recently restarted content development. It became apparent to me that the new text describing my professional expertise needed to align with the term that, in my opinion, accurately encapsulates what I do.

After several unsatisfactory attempts to craft a concise text, I turned to ChatGPT-4, providing it with keywords about my current and past roles. I then asked it to integrate these keywords with "sustainability choreographer" to generate a text suitable for a website outlining the professional services that a "sustainability choreographer" offers. The outcome was creative and persuasive, though it leaned a bit too much towards a 'tree-hugging' tone.

A subsequent prompt aimed at refining the text to better resonate with potential clients, specifically public sector managers, policy makers, and NGO leaders, resulted in the formulation of the following list of services provided by a "sustainability choreographer." Despite the somewhat consultancy-cadence of the wording, I find this list appealing and plan to incorporate it into the website soon. So contact me if you need any of the following:
